Fuel pressure dropping lower than expected.

Is your fuel pressure dropping lower than expected? This can be something that can affect all vehicles and there can be many reasons.

WHAT TO CHECK
  • Is the system fitted to your vehicle large enough? If everything else checks out to be okay then you may need to upgrade. KPM Fuel Systems have a wide range to support many different power levels.
  • If there are calibration changes to make, ensure they are done correctly. you can find them on the Product Instructions page.
  • Ensure battery and alternator voltage are as per manufacturer specification or better. Lower voltages can drastically reduce flow rate from the fuel pumps.
  • Ensure all electrical connectors are secure, this includes making sure Anderson terminals are fully locked into the connectors, checking for any damaged or discoloured connectors.
  • Ensure all earth points are clean and secure.
  • Is the fuel temperature high? If you are experiencing pressure drop from hot fuel you likely have to upgrade and add on a KPM Fuel Systems PWM fuel pump controller to run the pumps at a lower duty cycle when fuel demand is not required.
