Fuel pump lid electrical connector hot or melted

The earth terminal in the fuel pump lid electrical connector is a problem from the manufacturer affecting Pontiac G8, Caprice PPV and Chevrolet SS.
This can be a discoloured connector to a fully melted lid and connector.
