PWM status LED
The KPM Fuel Systems PWM fuel pump controller has a status LED which indicates the current operation status of the PWM.
This can be useful if trying to determine a fault. listed below are the status indicators possible on the PWM.
The LED will be active during fuel pump prime and engine running.
- Off – No power
- Flashing Green – PWM operating correctly
- Flashing Red – Fault
- Steady Green – unresponsive processor
- Alternate Red/Green flashing – Configuration lost and reset to factory default
What to do next
If the PWM is NOT operating correctly, firstly the unit needs to be powered down by either turning the ignition off or disconnecting the power harness.
After 60 seconds reconnect/restart the unit and re check status LED.
Refer to the relevant calibration notes for that vehicle found here, Product Instructions. As some vehicles can switch a signal if the ECU sees something undesirable causing the PWM to fault.
If no change re check connections and ensure all terminals are contacting correctly and battery voltage is adequate.
If no further issues are found and status LED still indicates a fault, bypass the PWM and connect the fuel module directly to the battery harness to see if pumps activate.
If fuel pumps activate when PWM is bypassed and everything else has tested okay then contact enquiries@kpmfuelsystems.com.au
